On R Way™ is a cutting edge speech therapy program, training, and materials set that gives clinicians the skills and resources to systematically remediate the /r/ from elicitation to integration. On R Way™ combines principles of motor learning and coarticulation to increase the 3Cs™--Context, Consistency, and Complexity--adding depth and order to your therapy.
No more mysteriously slow generalization.
No more kids working on R for years without progress.
If you're ready for a ground-breaking change to the game of articulation therapy, then let's get On R Way™!
Rachel Troughton M.Ed CCC-SLP has been working in the field of speech-language pathology for over 20 years and runs a private practice for remediation of speech sound disorders based in Meridian, Idaho.
Rachel created On R Way™ over several years as she realized that the materials she needed for quality, systematic /r/ treatment did not exist. On R Way™ is not just a set of therapy targets; it's a system for creating three dimensional change by finding each CONTEXT of /r/ (even the ones that might be hiding), building CONSISTENCY so that those contexts become automatic, natural, fluent patterns, and increasing COMPLEXITY of each context using the new and improved On R Way™ Speech Hierarchy.
On R Way™: A Functional Motor Approach for Remediation of /r/ (and other sounds too!) is a three to four hour live presentation.
Rachel presents online or in person to teams all over the map who are ready to take their therapy skills to a new level.
Your team will walk away with a new way to think about and implement articulation therapy for the /r/ (and other sounds) by systematically increasing context, consistency, and complexity of the sound.
Rachel provides actionable therapy strategies that can be implemented immediately along with video treatment models to solidify learning and materials to make treatment seamless.
On R Way™ is a system for brand new and seasoned clinician alike. Everyone can implement these clearcut ideas and use the curated materials for client and student success.
But don't take our word for it; see what professionals in the field have said ...
This was the best presentation I have ever attended about helping clients learn to produce /r/ and how to generalize it to become a new speech pattern. The detail in breaking down /r/ in all phonetic contexts was phenomenal and the updated version of the articulation hierarchy is amazing! I feel like I have the tools now to identify the specific contexts that are problem areas and have a systematic way of helping my students be successful in producing /r/!

Rachel's presentation is a must-see for all SLPs. The way she organizes information is truly remarkable. It feels like she has captured all the observations, thoughts, and learnings I have had from my 22 years in the profession and presented them in a clear and organized manner, which I would have never been able to do myself. The way her brain works is amazing! Rachel is definitely the real MVP!

I attended this presentation after just completing another online presentation about helping students with /r/ therapy. Rachel’s class was hands down more helpful for my caseload. The ‘big picture’ as well as the individual sessions were explained and thought out in a way that is easy to approach, take data, and make progress. Her tips were applicable, helpful, and I walked away more equipped to help my students. I highly recommend this presentation!

Every Speech-Language Pathologist needs to attend this training! No matter how long you have been in the field or how recently you were trained, this presentation will make you look at your practice and perfect what you are doing. It was exactly what we all need to be doing to prevent our clients/students from becoming "lifers."
Debbie Quigley, MS, CCC-SLP
Lately working on the /r/ sound has been my least favorite part of speech therapy. I have so many kids on my caseload working on the /r/ sound and sometimes it feels redundant, especially when I feel like they aren't making as much progress as I want with generalization. This training left me feeling so refreshed and motivated with strategies I could immediately take back to my school and implement in my own speech therapy sessions. This training really helped break down what I need to focus on in every level and how to put it all together. Rachel was so clear at breaking down consistency, context, and complexity and how it all goes together for effective therapy. I was engaged and furiously jotting down notes the whole presentation. I am so excited to use the materials and knowledge I gained from this presentation.

Rachel presented a professional development on articulation therapy for the speech department of our school district. It was excellent! She focused primarily on the /r/ sound which is the bulk of my articulation therapy and often the trickiest to treat. Rachel systematically broke down how to remediate /r/, thoroughly addressing the complexity of the sound. She has developed a unique and thorough framework to /r/ remediation. She also has lots of tips & tricks that are useful. Finally, a professional development day specifically for speech therapists, where we can walk away with tools to improve our practice today!
Mary Farmer, CCC-SLP
Rachel’s presentation was well-researched and thorough. The information she presented was helpful for everyone in our group–new therapists, graduate students and seasoned SLPs alike. Her approach to articulation is analytical and based on principles and techniques that as a school therapist I’ve used many times but never to the extent that Rachel described. The information she provided was clear and detailed. I can’t wait to put it into practice!

Rachel is a true professional with vast wisdom to share, especially in the articulation arena. It is clear that she has perfected her craft and we are lucky to have been on the receiving end of her knowledge through our district professional development. This presentation was organized, clear, interesting, and so very helpful! Clearly, this SLP is still in the trenches working with clients that have some of the most difficult patterns to remediate, and is passionate about helping us do the same. Rachel put the art in articulation therapy!
Anna Figgins MS CCC SLP
Our district had the privilege of being able to listen to Rachel teach us about the "Functional Motor Approach for Remediation of /r/" today. It was amazing! Rachel presented the material clearly and it was easy to understand. She even had video examples to help us see how therapy would look, which was very helpful. I have been working with students to fix their /r/s' for over 7 years, and I came out of the presentation today with new ideas of how to help even the trickiest of students. It was well worth my time! Thanks Rachel!
